I previously did a some fanart for Fallout, a concept for an Australian power armour set with some lore to go with that:

I figured it would be fun to go and do some more art for the concept, this time for Australian army uniforms from before the great war!
I had a fun time coming up with some designs that felt right in the Fallout universe, while remaining distinctly Australian. The NCR uniforms from New Vegas took many cues from Anzac uniforms from WW1, so I brought some of that in too, being careful to not simply copy the NCR designs.
In my headcanon, the Australian army is well behind the US in terms of technology and resources. They can't afford to equip their infantry with body armour like the US soliders, lacking a strong composites industry. Instead, their infantry is lightly armed and relies on patrols and ambushes over US-style frontal assaults and shock-and-awe.
The Australian Combat uniform soldier pictured wields a locally made semi-automatic rifle (with design cues from the Owen gun), while the Heavy is armed with a locally built Plasma weapon.
Australia lacks the high tech facilities to produce the advanced lenses and power cells needed for laser weapons, but has an abundance of fission material and microfusion cell factories; the army has opted to field plasma weapons and skip lasers for their armaments projects.
However, stolen or reverse-engineered US plasma weapons designs have proven hard to emulate. Australian plasma weapons are unstable and inaccurate, best used as area denial weapons as they spray searing and blinding plasma over wide areas. The Heavy uniform is designed to protect the soliders from the light and heat of the plasma.
Hope you enjoy!
